Daniel Lynas — Studio Manager and Chief Engineer

Daniel Lynas

Lynas began making amateur recordings and electronic/hip-hop beats when he was a freshman at Stuyvesant High School. He soon realized that he had little choice but to make music for a living, and applied to the Sonic Arts Center at CCNY. After being accepted into this exclusive and prestigious program, he spent the next four years taking courses ranging from music theory to microphone application, acoustic design (with John Storyk) to sound synthesis, mastering, mixing, and studio tech workshops. In addition to rigorous academics, each student had mandatory individual lab time assigned weekly, with more time available to sign out. As a result of spending every moment he could in the studios, Lynas garnered significant hands-on experience with a variety of microphones, analog and digital signal flow, recording and mixing techniques, and most industry-standard software, especially Pro Tools and Logic. After receiving a Bachelor of the Fine Arts Degree from CCNY, Lynas continued working for various recording studios around New York, and at his own small project studio in his home. Over the past several years, he's worked with many active New York artists, including Dash Speaks, Emergency Service, Mugwump, Sneakas, Das Racist, Jade, and many more. Since being hired as Wonderful Studio Manager and Chief Engineer, Lynas has brought his signature style and sound to SoHo. While working with many up-and-coming artists and big names alike, he still somehow finds time to ride his bicycle.
